Every day the sun provides far more energy than mankind could ever use. Photovoltaic systems convert some of that sunlight into electricity.

Put several solar cells together, and you get a module. Put several modules together, and the result is a generator that feeds electricity to an inverter unit for formatting. Depending on which country you live in, the power you generate will then either flow into the national grid, or power your own house directly.
